That is depending on the usage. Normally Graphic design is used in most of the places like printing, banner design, brochure, ads, packaging, and informational design, etc. Multimedia is used when we go with animation.

As my suggestion, to design multimedia you will get various aspects of graphic design and multimedia design has better demand than graphic design. It will depend on your choice.
